Why Join?

Savannah – Commercial Pilot, CFI, CFII, MEI

“I joined the Tucson 99s chapter at the advice of a pilot friend who lives in the PNW; he knew I was new to flying and immediately recommended the 99s as an excellent resource for information and camaraderie. As I have explored the world of aviation, it’s been great to find a community of like-minded women I can learn from and connect with. I appreciate the diversity of experience and skills within the chapter, and look forward to more events and activities with the group.”

Michelle – Private Pilot

“Joining the 99s has been an extremely positive and uplifting experience for me.  I joined in Sept. 2021, just 4 months after getting my PPL.  I was looking to find a group of women aviators who love to fly and who could understand and share the deep love for aviation that I have.  I find the Tucson Chapter to be a diverse group of amazing women with all kinds of different ratings and experiences, and ranging in age from 17 yrs to 90 yrs, but who all love to get together and share the joy of flying.  Giving and receiving support from each other through our greatest accomplishments and our biggest frustrations has been priceless.  Though I know and appreciate all of my male colleagues in this field, there’s nothing like the love and support I’ve felt from my sisters!”

Micaehla – Private Pilot

“I wanted to join the 99s because the only aviators I knew were my flight instructors. I was looking for a community of women aviators that could offer friendship and guidance as I work my way from student pilot to private pilot and beyond. I love having a supportive community of women who I can celebrate my highs with and diagnose my lows. Although I am a new member I quickly felt welcomed by this lovely group of women aviators. It’s also nice to get into a network of people who know the ins and outs of the best local resources for general aviation. “
